Specifies engineering requirements for new audio DSP products and addresses advanced technical support issues utilizing agile management of bug reporting, QA testing and software/firmware release management using Atlassian’s Jira and Confluence tools. Supported product requirements focused on VoIP testing with Asterisk call servers, OpenSSH TLS v1.x testing as well as large-scale AV/IP systems including Dante, Dolby Atmos, and DTS:X spatial surround sound formats.

Travels globally to customer sites installing and calibrating ultrasonic positioning systems for correct orientation and tracking. The California Science Center Foundation is a non-profit organization that works in conjunction with the state operated California Science Center museum most widely known for being home to the ~$2B Endeavour orbiter vehicle. Solely responsible for all audio video operations in 3 venues and oversaw the load-in and load-out of 3rd party vendors in the Samuel Oschin Endeavour Pavilion. Maintained a number of Peavey MediaMatrix systems with AMX control and began to convert the venues to BSS Soundweb London systems. Maintained lighting systems above the Endeavour orbiter including operating scissor and boom lifts above the orbiter vehicle. Setup large and medium format projection systems throughout the museum with Barco ImagePro-II processors. Assisted in the design of the multi-million dollar Phase 3 development of the California Science Center.

FOH Audio Engineer [ 10/2005 - 06/2007 ]

Operated and maintained a state-of-the-art theater aboard the Radiance of the Seas, Voyager of the Seas, and the Serenade of the Seas. Ran new shows every night and two Vegas-style revues every week. Managed the stage staff and submitted weekly reports on the system’s status. Involved extensive troubleshooting, repair, and reprogramming; included room compensation of the mains and time alignment of the delay zones with SIA Smaart Live RTA software. Completed substantial repairs and restored the entire ship’s various audio systems to full working order with zero down time.

Audio Engineer (A-1) / Stagehand [ 07/2007 - current ]

Overflow work helping with builds and tear-downs of first-class shows at leading venues including The Orange County Performing Arts Center, The Sprint Center, Starlight Theater and Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. Typically assisted the touring A1/A2 engineer with wiring, but have also built stages, flown line arrays, wired intelligent lighting systems, set up back-line while performing all technical duties with skill and enthusiasm.

FOH Audio Engineer / Stagehand [ 03/2003 - 06/2008 ]

Worked under the direction of Chief Audio Engineer Scott Gregory on various productions for Columbia Management as well as several privately funded productions. Performances included a number of New York dance troupes, The Kansas City Symphony, and a series of acoustic musicians and jazz bands. Responsibilities typically included hanging and focusing lighting instruments to the lighting director’s specifications and operating the sound system as both FOH and monitor technician.
